First problem: Talk about it. Get DIRTY with them.
Second problem: Change one thing.

- Bring back PLAY– allow students to have informal opportunities to develop the skills of a problem solver through logical games, etc.

- Use your colleagues to plan & anticipate. Build in time for collaborative planning!
- Ask yourself these questions: What’s my math story? What are your students strengths? What do you think they are going to do?
